'Later I turned into a room and there were the aforementioned crispbread pieces. I still remember how I thought, how can such a petite woman create such impressive, massive and expressive archetypes.
There hung a man and a woman facing the front, naked, brutal, primitive - larger than life. Each of the reliefs, one meter wide and two meters high and without explanation, I realized why crispbread was used.
'Holons', as Gabriele Pöhlmann calls her characters, are based on the philosophy of holism.
The size of the individual bread tablets corresponds in height and width in relation to the overall picture, so one would capture four of these pictures in the arrangement two above, two below or accordingly.
Nine of them, three works hanging in three rows one below the other, you would always have the ratio of the smallest unit (the crispbread slice) to the whole.
And this approach is a basic idea of Gabriele Pöhlmann. The small in the large - or, conversely, to divide the largest into the smallest. '
